Would I were in an alehouse in London! I would give all my fame for a pot of ale…
Shakespeare, Henry V

Who We Are

We are a husband-and-wife team who, fed up with just talking about it, decided to realise the dream! Our brand new, 10-barrel plant in E10 is the result of a great deal of thought and a fair amount of hard graft.

There's something inherently gratifying about making beer which appeals to us on a basic level. Maybe it's to do with the simplicity of the ingredients – water, grain, yeast, hops – or maybe the immediacy of the activity and the comfort of being part of a long British tradition.
Of course, we couldn't have done it without help, support and expert advice from a whole range of people. We've been especially blown away by the generosity of the microbrewing community, who have welcomed us as new contributors to the art, held our hands and put up with a lot of stupid questions. We hope we have the opportunity to pass on the favour to any of you would-be microbrewers out there!

Quitting the day job is never easy, but we're ever-more convinced that it's worth it.
Great thanks due particularly to Andy Moffat at Redemption and Greg Pilley at Stroud Brewery: both fantastic microbrewers who have been incredibly generous with their time; John Pardoe at CAMRA ELAC branch; Noah Harris; Chris Angelkov at Fiction Department; our inventive builder, Bully at BUDA Building; Joy and Robin Lascelles; and Jeffa for the childcare!
